Shipping — times, rates, and how we pack canvas

Every canvas is printed and stretched to order in the United Kingdom. This is the honest picture of when it arrives and what it costs.

Production time

Production is 1–2 working days for every canvas before it ships. This is non-negotiable — printing, stretching, and curing the canvas takes longer than printing a poster, and we'd rather take the day than ship a print that hasn't dried properly.

You'll get a shipping confirmation email with tracking the moment the canvas leaves our production facility.

Transit times

United Kingdom

• Standard (free over £50, £4.99 below): 2–3 working days, Royal

Mail Tracked 48 or DPD depending on size.

• Express (£9.99): next working day after dispatch, DPD or Parcelforce.

Total time door-to-door: 3–5 working days standard, 2–3 working days express.

European Union

• Standard (£12.99): 4–7 working days, DPD or DHL.
• Express (£24.99): 2–4 working days, DHL Express.

Total time door-to-door: 5–9 working days standard, 3–6 working days express.

Import duties: under €150 (most A4–A2 single canvases), no import duty under the EU low-value threshold. Above €150 (most A1s and triptychs), duty and VAT are payable on import — we collect those at checkout under IOSS so there's nothing extra to pay on delivery.

United States

• Standard (£14.99): 5–8 working days, DHL.
• Express (£32.99): 3–5 working days, DHL Express.

Total time door-to-door: 6–10 working days standard.

Under $800, no US import duty (de minimis). We don't collect US sales tax — buyers may be liable for use tax in their state but in practice it isn't enforced on small parcels.

Canada, Australia, New Zealand

• Standard (£18.99–£24.99): 7–14 working days, DHL.

Rest of world

Available at checkout — rates calculated by destination. Lead time varies, typically 10–18 working days.

How we pack canvas

Canvas survives transit better than paper, but only with the right packaging. Every canvas ships in:

• Acid-free tissue paper wrapped around the face
• Corner protectors on all four corners
• Closed-cell polyethylene foam layer over the front face
• Double-walled corrugated cardboard outer box, custom-sized to the

canvas — no rattling in the box, no extra void fill needed

The box is sealed with reinforced kraft tape (no plastic) and labelled "FRAGILE — DO NOT BEND" on every face. We've shipped tens of thousands of canvases this way; transit damage runs at well under 1%.

What to do if your canvas arrives damaged

In the rare case of damage:

1. Photograph the box before opening it (especially any external damage). 2. Photograph the canvas before removing it from the packaging. 3. Email those photos to support@canvas-wallart.com within 7 days of delivery — that's all we need to send a free replacement. We don't ask for the damaged canvas to be returned; recycle the cardboard locally.

Replacements ship the same day we receive the photos, typically arriving within 3–5 working days.

Delays we can't avoid

A few things are outside our control:

• Bank holidays in the UK push standard UK delivery to 4–6 working

days for that week.

• Carrier strikes (rare but possible) — we'll proactively email if

your dispatch coincides with one and offer an alternative carrier.

• Customs delays on EU/US/CA/AU orders — occasionally a parcel sits

in customs for 2–3 days. Tracking will show this; nothing we can do except wait.

Multiple-canvas orders

Multi-piece orders ship in a single box when the dimensions allow it (most orders up to four A4s or two A2s). Larger combined orders sometimes ship in two boxes on the same day, with tracking for each.

A note on lead time honesty

We display lead time on the cart, the checkout page, and the order confirmation email. We don't quote "delivered in 2 days" anywhere and then quietly take five. If we're going to miss the quoted window, you'll get an email before the window expires, not after.
